We never appear as naked as we do on our wedding day

Wedding Dresses are so varied and beautiful; layers and layers of beautiful fabric, beading, ruching, strapless. Brides always sit with me worrying that they don’t want toappear over accessorised or looking like a Christmas Tree. It is obviously my job to ensure that you leave my studio feeling suitably and elegantly adorned with wonderful jewels which you can’t wait to wear on your wedding day. As much detailing as you may have on your wedding dress will probably vanish when you come to look at your photographs. Unless you have lace on bare flesh, other detailing is invariably on a light coloured satin/silk and the photographs will give the impression of plain fabric ivory fabric. Therefore, the jewellery does play a key part in the overall look of your finished result. Strapless dresses with hair up and small pearl earrings without a necklace seems quite enough and beautifully understated but photographs reveal that sometimes the dress doesn’t even feature and one can risk the look of not wearing a dress at all! Necklaces however theatrical or understated can save the day!

Earrings

It is always so lovely to have just a little drop from the ear.  Studs are lovely but quite static and the movement of the drop is just so romantic and lovely with hair up and just a bit of movement.  I am not talking about long chandaliers, just subtle drops like the Georgia earrings on my website.

Hats for the mother of the bride or groom

We either love hats or hate them!  For those who are not comfortable, please let me give you some alternatives which are not frivolous coloured feathers or endless fascinators but beautiful accessories for the hair that are tailor made to the customers requirements and are just a little different whilst being absolutely stunning and appropriate!  Hats can get in the way whilst being stunning!  We are here to give you a little something different to stand out from the crown in a beautiful way!

Gold or Silver!

So many brides, whilst sitting on my sofa will say ” Oh definitely silver”.  I am normally talking about the colour of the wiring in the hair.  The truth is, I hate seeing the wiring so I very much look at the skin tone and colour of the hair and tend to advise a muted gold to blend into the hair so that it is camouflaged and gives a warmer and kinder tone.  Therefore, all we see are the colour of the beautiful jewelling.  Everything is made to order so I am purely here to give advice.

Buy, Hire or Convert?

The cost of weddings is such an expense.  As far as I am concerned what you wear in your hair is the most important part as 70% of all photographs is the head and shoulders.  So never compromise on what you have in your hair as you are investing in a photograph which you will look at for years to come.  However, rather than compromising due to exense, we can offer three options:
Firstly, to buy and then bring it back after your wedding to be recycled into another piece of jewellery you can wear again.

Secondly
, hire for a 3 day period at 50% of the cost

Thirdly
, buy your gorgeous headdress and then at some point in the future, return to me and I will resell for you.  At the point of sale, I will give  back to you 50% of the resale price.

Lastly
, just buy and keep forever more to cherish and show to your grandchildren as your special heirloom which you have treasured for all these years!!

Gillian Million on Skype

We are now offering SKYPE appointments for our overseas customers or brides who are unable to visit the shop for an appointment.  They have been a great success!! We literally take you through to our studio and actually show you the designs up close and we can try on all the accessories to give you a true sense of the colour, size and how to wear the designs.

Please call for an appointment which will take about 1/2 to 1 hour and we can diarise a time to suit your schedule and at your convenience and time difference.
